Earn people’s trust by proactively engaging with them; says PM Modi interacting with IAS officers

New Delhi, July 5: New minds come with new ideas. New ideas pave the path for a better future and likewise bring growth and development. IAS officers are considered to be a strong pillar of democratic administration. Interacting with the newly appointed IAS officers Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged them to engage with the public proactively and earn their trust.

Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday interacted with over 170 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the 2016 batch, who have recently been appointed as Assistant Secretaries in various ministries in the Government of India.

During the interaction, PM Modi talked about good and proactive governance, people’s participation in administration, transparency, information flows and finest utilization of resources. He asked the officials to earn people’s trust in government by proactively engaging with the public and by resolving their grievances and improving governance services.

 

The officers were recently posted as Assistant Secretaries in the Ministries and Department of Government of India for a period of 13 weeks starting from July 2 on Central deputation. These officers had completed the Phase 2 training of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie. The officers will report to their State cadres by the end of September 2018 after completing their first Central deputation,

The Prime Minister also talked about the recently launched flagship programmes like Gram Swaraj Abhiyan for rural areas and Ayushman Bharat, an ambitious project to provide healthcare facilities for the people.
