India welcomes Bhutan PM on his 3 days visit to India

New Delhi, July 5: India has said Namaste on arrival of Prime Minister of Bhutan Dasho Tshering Tobgay in New Delhi today as he is on a three-day visit to India. He will call on President Ram Nath Kovind and hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 6. The External Affairs Minister and other Ministers will call on the visiting dignitary.

 

India and Bhutan enjoy unique bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation, which are characterized by the utmost trust and mutual understanding.

This year is the Golden Jubilee of the diplomatic relationship between India and Bhutan which was established in 1968 with the establishment of a special office of India in Thimphu.

During the meetings with the Indian leaders, Bhutan Minister will convey a deep appreciation of the people and the government for the generous assistance provided by the people and Government of India for Bhutan’s 11th Five Year Plan, which began in 2013 and concluded last month.

Bhutan Minister will discuss other areas of mutual interests and cooperation, and the Government of India’s assistance to Bhutan’s 12th Plan.

Last year, the royal family of Bhutan had visited India and met the President Ram Nath Kovindm, PM Modi, and External Affairs Sushma Swaraj.

 

The King and Queen of Bhutan had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with their son Prince Gyalsey. Welcoming sweetly the Prince Gyalsey, Prime Minister Modi had gifted him with the set of Chess and official football of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
