New Delhi, July 6: As India intensified the mission evacuation of the stranded Indian pilgrims in Nepal, the Ministry of External Affairs has pronounced an advisory for those pilgrims who would continue their route to Kailash Mansarovar. It is likely that all the pilgrims will be evacuated today.

The advisory inclines to the recent inclement weather condition in Nepal that has caused havoc among the pilgrims along Nepalganj-Simikot-Hilsa route of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra (through Nepal) and consequent stranding of pilgrims for over a week’s time, the prospective pilgrims should take following details in consideration.

The advisory includes detailed information on carrying out the further journey. The MEA has advised the prospected pilgrims to have a check on the agencies apprising themselves with the Ministry’s standing advisory.

In view of the uncertain weather condition in Simikot and Hilsa, the pilgrims have to get their medical check-up done and take necessary medicines to pursue the journey ahead. Apart from that, as Simikot and Hilsa are infrastructure lean, the places are lacking in medical facilities and comfortable boarding and lodging facilities. Thus, pilgrims should get themselves medically examined before starting the Yatra as well as carry medicine for up to one month.

The pilgrims should also note that Simikot and Hilsa are connected to rest of the world only by air i.e. by small aircraft or helicopters. There is no other way of traveling in and out of these places. Further, these small aircraft or helicopters can operate only when the weather is absolutely clear in these places and their adjoining areas, as the terrain and route is extremely dangerous. Thus in case of poor weather, there are high chances of pilgrims getting stranded in various legs of Yatra.

The mission evacuation has been in full swing and almost 832 yatris been evacuated and brought under safe conditions. The army helicopters have successfully evacuated many pilgrims enabling medical facilities and the best possible help.
