You are famous as "Hotel, Motel and Patel"; you can boost Indian Tourism: PM Modi to US based Patel community

California, July 6: Bridging the gap between the Patels who stay in the USA with their native place, PM Modi gave the mantra of coming to India at least once a year and he also invited the Patels staying over there to visit India during the Kumbhmela to be held next year.

 

While addressing the International Convention of Saurashtra Patel Cultural Samaj of USA through video conference, the Prime Minister said, "You people are known as 'hotel-motel Patel wallas', can each one of you influence five people to visit India? Whenever you get guests in hotel/motel you can put five minutes clip on Indian tourism on TV, when they open TV they will be able to see what India is."

"Stop in at a motel anywhere in the US, and you are likely to find an Indian-American family at the helm of it,” Modi added.

In his interaction, Prime Minister announced that Statue of Unity (dedicated to Iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel) will be constructed by 31 October which is the world’s tallest statue and is taller that statue of Liberty.

He also slammed the opposition for maligning India globally and said that it is because of the success stories of Indians living abroad that India is looked up to with great respect.
