Binding historically and culturally, India and Nepal mutually encourage boosting tourism

Kathmandu, July 7: Binding together religious and devotional bond between the two neighboring countries, India and Nepal gear up for yet another interesting pact. The two countries agree to come up with ideas to encourage and boost tourism by jointly promoting historically and culturally important tourism circuits.


 

Commencing the 2nd Meeting of Joint Working Group (JWG) on Tourism Cooperation between India and Nepal on July 6, 2018, in Kathmandu, a wide range of activities was discussed. Both the countries share a rich and diversified history with great cultural bounties. Therefore India and Nepal have decided to promote Ramayana and Buddhism along with adventure tourism.

The adventure tourism is first of its kind mutual mechanism in the region wherein any two countries have agreed to promote each other’s’ tourist destinations. The group further decided to establish Indo-Nepal Tourism Forum which would be an industry-led cooperation forum with the support of the two Governments.

 

The group also agreed to improve critical tourism enabling infrastructures such as overland road connectivity, further streamline of scheduled bus route operations including luxury bus coaches. The Indian side agreed to extend all possible cooperation in the domain of human resource development in tourism and hospitality sectors through the intake of Nepali professionals in professional courses in Indian universities, regular exchange of experts and academia.

For all these years the two countries have shown their strong bond with backing each other and supported in their testing times. The relations have grown strongly and basing roots of development India and Nepal continue with their unique friendship to great heights.
