Jharkhand Assembly to have its monsoon session from July 16; several bills in queue to be tabled

Ranchi, July 7: The Jharkhand Assembly is preparing to bring about half a dozen bills in the monsoon session beginning July 16. These include the persons related to the Jharkhand Medical Services, Medical Services Institute (Violence and Property Damage Redressal) Bill. This is the third time when the bill is going to be tabled in the Assembly.


 

According to an officer, Department of Health, the report of the Bill and the Expert Committee, both have been sent to the Assembly Secretariat

Apart from this, the bill related to the establishment of three private universities in this session will also be kept on the table.

This includes the universities established by Chaudhary Charan Singh Education Society and Ramkrishna Charitable Foundation (Ayushmya Education and Social Society). The State Council of Ministers had approved the ordinance for the establishment of both universities in the Cabinet meeting on June 19, but after the announcement of the monsoon session of the Assembly, it is now preparing to bring it into the bill.

The proposed Jharkhand Private Placement Agencies and Domestic Workers (Regulation) Bill can be placed for the second time in the monsoon session to tighten the scam on placement agencies. Earlier, the Assembly had approved the bill, but the Governor had returned it with some amendment.

On the other side, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) working president Hemant Soren has threatened to disrupt proceedings of the monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly if the Raghubar Das government did not rollback the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Jharkhand Amendment Act) 2017.
