Kolkata, August 1: Releasing the final draft of National Register of Citizens in Assam, it has been noted that around 40 lakh people in Assam have been left out of a draft list of citizens who will have to face deportation if they cannot prove their citizenship.

Indicating a clear message for West Bengal Chief Minister, ‘Think twice before you speak’! Mamata Banerjee has to take this advice quite seriously for now.

Accusing the West Bengal Chief Minister of inciting hatred and tension among the people, Bharatiya Janata party’s youth wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) filed an FIR against the West Bengal Chief Minister. The complaint has been filed against her statement citing ‘tension and hatred’on the National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft at the Naharkatia police station in Dibrugarh district on Tuesday evening.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha accused the TMC Chief of provoking ‘hate and tension’ among the living communities with the intention of disrupting the NRC process. The FIR was jointly filed by three BJYM activists Jagdish Singh of Duliajan, Mridul Kalita of Joypur and Amulya Chengiari of Naharkatia.

The NRC draft invited many unnecessary debates by the opposition claiming that the Central government sidelined the 40 lakh people on purpose. Initiating the debate, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed several targets on the ruling party stating that she has asked for the NRC bill to be amended and the reports of NRC being implemented in Bengal. She further said that she told Rajnath Singh that if such a thing happens there can be a civil war.

Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday had warned that Assam NRC could lead to unrest. Duping down again to what suits her best, the ‘goon’ mentality of the TMC shows up clearly with the TMC supremo warning of unrest. Mamta Banerjee said, “If it continues to be like this, don't you think it will create a blood-war? The West Bengal CM also alleged that even Indians couldn’t make it to the final draft list.

“In Assam, it’s not just only about Muslims; they want to throw out 40 lakh people. How come Indians have become foreigners suddenly? What is going on in Assam? The NRC problem is that it is not only the Bengalis, it is the minorities, it is Hindus, it is Bengalis, it is Biharis. More than 40 lakhs people voted yesterday for the ruling party and suddenly today they have been made refugees in their own country” said Mamata Banerjee.

Mamata Banerjee had even accused the government of excluding ‘Bengalis from the list’. On Monday as the draft was released the TMC Chief asked, “The NRC draft list has excluded many Bengalis. They are running a 'Bengali evacuation' drill. Irrespective of religion 40 lakh Bengalis have been excluded from the list. Where will these 40 lakh people go now?”

“People are being isolated through a game plan. We are worried because people are being made refugees in their own country. It’s a plan to throw out Bengali speaking people and Biharis. Consequences will be felt in our state also,” she had added.

The second and final draft of the NRC was released on Monday by the Assam government. As per the exercise, this was directly monitored by the Supreme Court, those who have entered Assam after March 24, 1971, will be viewed as illegal immigrants. It was notified that out of 3,29,91,384 applicants in the second draft of the NRC only 2,89, 83,677 persons were found eligible, while names of 4,007,707 people were not included in the final Draft NRC.

Like a drama queen, CM Mamata Banerjee has shown a strong reaction against the NRC Draft published on Monday stating that the central government has intentionally eliminated more than 40 lakh religious & linguistic minorities from NRC (National Register of Citizens) which will have serious consequences on the demography of different states adjoining Assam.

In spite of informing the people about initiating their names again for their claim and objection between August 30 to September 28, the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee gave no heed to the ruling party and deliberately commented on the draft claiming it to be a game plan of the BJP in their context of ‘divide and rule’.

But the ultimate question arises, why is Mamata Banerjee trying to cover these illegal immigrants to such a level that she could go miles to fight for them. The NRC Draft under the supervision of the Supreme Court was a medium to remove the illegal immigrants staying in the country which comprise of the Bangladeshis.
