New Delhi, August 1: Tightened diplomacy from External Affairs Ministry under the supervision of Minister Sushma Swaraj has led the country to rise high in the world. Sushma Swaraj is available 24X7 to help Indians stuck across the world. Due to the efforts of Sushma Swaraj and her team, at least 21 fishermen who were stranded in Iran are released and will be repatriated soon.

Notably, as many as 21 fishermen from Tamil Nadu, who were stranded in Iran have been released and will be repatriated in batches starting August 3. In a tweet on Tuesday, EAM Sushma Swaraj said, "I am happy to inform that 21 Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu who were stranded at Nakhitaghi (Iran) have been released with the efforts of Indian Embassy in Iran and our Consulate at Bandar Abbas. We are repatriating them to Chennai in batches starting from August 3."

Importantly, the 21 fishermen were engaged in fishing in three boats belonging to their Iranian employers for more than six months but were stranded as they have not received remuneration since six months.

In the month of June this year, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami urged PM Modi to direct the Indian Embassy in Iran to take necessary steps for bringing back 21 Tamil Nadu fishermen stranded in that country. While Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi met Sushma Swaraj and urged her to bring back the 21 Indian fishermen.
