Subramanian Swamy refutes Mamata Banerjee’s claims on migrant-re resettlement

New Delhi, Aug 1: Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Subramanian Swamy has taken exceptions to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s remarks on National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft.

The former Union Minister took to Twitter and slammed TMC Chief over her announcement of illegal migrant resettlement.

The Rajya Sabha MP stated that state government has no rights in resettle of non -citizens. Responding to Mamata’s civil war jibe, Swamy went on saying that President's rule should be imposed in the state of West Bengal.

On Tuesday, reacting to the developments of National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft presented by Centre, Mamata Banerjee declared that West Bengal would address the settlement issues of migrants.

The TMC Chief accused BJP led central government of employing divide and rule policy in the northeastern state. She predicted that release of Assam NRC final draft which has left out nearly four million people from the list would trigger a civil war war-like situation in the country.

On Monday, the central government presented that draft of National Register of Citizens where near about 40 lakh people are missing from the list. The list has 2.89 crore people out of 3.29 crore applicants.
