Proud! Manasi brings laurel to country; bags bronze medal at Thailand Para-Badminton International

Bangkok, August 11: Where there is a will there is a way! Though Manasi lost her way in very small age after losing one leg, however, it was only a ‘will-power’ that made her win a bronze medal in women’s singles at Thailand Para-Badminton International 2018.

 

Being on one leg and other on metal blade foot never stopped Manasi from moving ahead in her life. Manasi Joshi on Saturday clinched the Bronze medal after losing in the semi-finals in SL3 section of women’s singles at Thailand Para-Badminton International 2018.

Seven years ago, In December of 2011, Manasi Joshi suffered from the biggest setback of her life after she lost a leg in a road accident, but even the biggest tragedy didn’t stop her from pursuing her dream. Manasi, a Software Engineer by profession was preparing for her first Para Asian Games in Jakarta in October last year, with chief National badminton coach Pullela Gopi Chand.


In 2015, Manasi won silver medal in mixed doubles in the World Championships, bronze in 2016 women’s singles, 2017 World championship bronze and a gold in a Spanish international event. Despite her disabilities, her passion for badminton never dropped and today she made whole country proud.
