Cracks in DMK as late Karunanidhi's elder son M K Alagiri bats for the post of Party President

Chennai, Aug 13: Ahead of the crucial organizational meeting of Dravida Munnetra Kazagham former Union Minister and late Karunanidhi's elder son M K Alagiri today has claimed for the position of Party President.

Speaking to the media after visiting Karunanidhi's memorial at Marina Beach here, the expelled DMK leader said that he enjoys the support of relatives and DMK members. He further went on saying that he was the real successor of Karunanidhi.

Earlier, the rift between M K Alagiri and M.K. Stalin lead to the expulsion of the former Union Minister Alagiri. Currently, Stalin is holding the charge as DMK working president.

On August 14, all office bearers of Dravida Munnetra Kazagham have been summoned for an important emergency executive meeting. According to media reports, resolutions on key decisions will be passed which includes the nomination of M.K. Stalin for the post of DMK Chief.
