Jharkhand Police will have its act, government asks report from headquarters

Ranchi, August 13: Jharkhand police will also have their own act. The government is serious about it and has sought a report from the police headquarters. On the same issue on Friday evening, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of DG headquarters PRK Naidu, in which the merits of the act were considered. Officers present in the meeting gave their views on the Police Act.


 

What is to be done in the Police Act and what not to was discussed in the meet; a detailed report is to be made on it through the Police Headquarters which will be handed over to the state government.

Initially, the authorities had initiated to make a police act in Jharkhand, but due to some errors, the file was returned to the police headquarters for improvement. Now the government will be getting an improved version of the Act proposal.

What is the Police Act?

- There is a provision in the Act regarding the formation of the police force, the power to stop crime through the police, through the members of the police force, for the penalty imposed for duty violation.

In the past year, about 200 soldiers of the Central and State security forces have been taken by the extremist extremists, many of them have been killed in the IED explosion and encounter in Naxals. In such a case, even after the Supreme Court order, in Jharkhand, the government has started preparing preparations for police reforms. There is also the allegation of intelligence failure in the dense forests of the state. In such a situation, the police system will get strengthened due to its act.
