Pre- Independence Day celebration in Madhya Pradesh; to observe Shahid Samman Divas today

Bhopal, August 14: One day before the Independence Day, Madhya Pradesh will be observing Shaheed Saman Diwas in all districts of the state today. The state government has taken a decision to honour families of martyrs of Madhya Pradesh origin, who sacrificed their lives while discharging duty during the war, military action and internal security.

 

Programmes in the memory of the martyrs will be organized at schools on the occasion. The Minister-In-Charge of Districts along with the Member of Parliament, MLA and other Public Representatives will participate in the Shaheed Samman Diwas.

The programmes in honour of 602 Martyrs will be organized in the state. Families of 13 martyrs will be honoured in the programme at Bhopal. Ministers, members of Parliament and state legislative assembly and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself will meet family members of martyrs on the occasion to express gratitude for supreme sacrifice done by their near and dear for the nation.

On the Shaheed Samman Diwas, families of 312 Martyrs of Defence, 119 Martyrs of Para Military Forces, 171 of Madhya Pradesh Police will be honoured in various districts.

The school or government building will be named after the Martyrs in the village where he was born or his family is residing currently.
