Reacting to freedom of speech and Media control, KTR reminded that none other than Gandhi’s Congress was responsible for the horrifying emergency under the leadership of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

He further accused the then Congress government of destroying the lives of pro-Telangana activists. The IT Minister sought Rahul Gandhi’s apology for 1969 agitation which had claimed lives of 369 youth.

Countering Gandhi’s development plank, KTR suggested that the Congress President should direct local leaders not to stall the ongoing projects initiated by the state government.

Earlier, Congress President Rahul Gandhi during his two-day Telangana Visit had slammed Telangana Rashtra Samithi Chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for not doing enough for the newly crafted state. The Amethi lawmaker went on saying that KCR ‘s Telangana Rashtra Samithi was encouraging dynastic politics.
