PM Modi to visit Gujarat on August 23 to inaugurate infrastructural projects

New Delhi, August 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit his home state Gujarat on August 23, where he will participate in several programmes.

 

Notably, PM Modi would start his visit by dedicating two lakh houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to beneficiaries at a function in Valsad. He will also perform a ground-breaking ceremony for a water supply project meant for the tribal population of Dharampur and Kaprada talukas. The Prime Minister will further address a public gathering.

Later, in the day, PM Modi will visit Junagadh town in the Saurashtra region to inaugurate some projects, including a newly-built hospital of the Gujarat Medical and Education Research Society (GMERS). He will also inaugurate two fisheries science colleges at Veraval town in adjoining Gir Somnath district.

The prime minister would also address people at a function at the Police Training College ground near Junagadh. In the last leg of his visit, PM Modi is scheduled to be in Gandhinagar to attend the convocation ceremony of the Gujarat Forensic Science University.

PM Modi was supposed to visit Gujarat on July 20, but due to heavy rains in several parts of the state his trip was postponed.

Last, PM Modi visited Gujarat in February this year. During the visit, PM Modi inaugurated various developmental projects of 1000 Cr in the Union territory of Daman and Diu. He launched the helicopter service between Daman and Diu. Modi also launched Air Odisha flight service connecting Ahmedabad with Diu under UDAN Scheme.

Besides, PM Modi laid the foundation stones for various local developmental projects in Daman and Diu. The PM also distributed e-rickshaws to women and scooters to differently-abled persons. Apart from it, the Prime Minister inaugurated anganwadis and schools constructed under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), launched development projects and hand over certificates to beneficiaries of various official schemes.
