Conferring the best for their commendable service to the nation, Prez Kovind awards 61 medals to BSF on Independence Day

New Delhi, August 16: Conferring the best with the honor they deserve, President Ram Nath Kovind awarded 61 medals to the Border Security Forces on the eve of Independence Day in recognition of commendable, gallant performance, distinguished and meritorious services.

 

Unfurling the red carpet on the 72nd Independence Day, these 61 awards comprised of 10 police medals for Gallantry including one 1st Bar to Police Medal for Gallantry, four President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 47 Police Medals for Meritorious Services to the BSF personnel.

President Ram Nath Kovind, honoured BS Kasana with 1st Bar to Police Medal for Gallantry, Raj Kumar, Vikas Kunwar, Yudhvir Yadav, Surjeet Singh, Om Prakash, Narendra Kumar, Paras Ram, Bivas Batbyal, Mukesh Choudhary with Police Medal for Gallantry.

Jutta Shiva Naga Durga Prasad, Dharmendra Kumar Tripathi, Jagdish Chand Singla and Thampi Puthiya Kennel John received President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service award. The President’s Tatrakshak Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to IG Rakesh Pal.

President has also awarded one President’s Tatrakshak Medal for Distinguished Service, five Tatrakshak Medal for Gallantry and two Tatrakshak Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Independence Day this year to Indian Coast Guard personnel.

These awards are being given to the personnel of Indian Coast Guard on Republic Day and Independence Day every year since 1990.
