India unites with #PrayforKerala, extends financial support donating generous amount
Thiruvananthapuram, August 18: As the darkened clouds continue to engulf the state of Kerala with horrific heavy rainfall giving the worst nightmare of the century, many supporting hands have come forward extending financial support to the people of Kerala. With the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund generating numerous amount, the RSS Swayamsevaks are also working day and night to rescue the flood-affected people in Kerala. Several Bollywood celebrities have responded to the appeal and made significant contributions in the flood relief program.
Spreading awareness of the escalating worsened condition of Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan requested people to make generous contributions towards the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund in a press meet on Thursday. Providing details to donate a generous amount, the Chief Minister of Kerala requested to help the state reeling under flood.

The King Khan of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, has also taken up an active role to help the flood victims. After he donated a significant amount, Academy Award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty responded to his deed and thanked him for his quick action.
As the government announced the need to raise funds to continue rescue operations and restructure the state, Pookutty personally approached several eminent personalities including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and A. R. Rahman to contribute to the relief funds.
In addition to the aforementioned actors, Resul thanked Alia Bhatt and Sonam Kapoor too for extending financial aid to the victims of the Kerala floods.
It is not just the Bollywood fraternity who has been at the forefront extending support to the distressed people, the RSS Swayamsevaks are working hard to rescue people in Kerala with huge supplies of rice, pulses, sugar & medicines continue in several districts of Kerala. They have loaded trucks with food material on their way to relief camps in flood-affected districts of Kerala. Looking at the gravity of the distress, RSS Swayamsevaks rushed in for rescue works at various Flood hit zones in Kerala, helped and served the flood-affected Citizens with Food, Shelter etc.
Extending support, Sewa Bharati, the unit of the RSS which is devoted itself to social services, rescue operations and disaster management has appealed the people of the nation to donate for the Kerala flood relief. Until now over rescue operations are progressing well even in an inclement weather. A total of 82,442 rescues, 3,14,391 people from 70,085 families are safe in 2094 camps across the State.
