Maha government committed to Maratha Reservation: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tells Maratha intellectuals

Mumbai, Aug 2: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today chaired a crucial meeting with intellectuals, editors, actors, professionals from Maratha community at Sahyadri guesthouse here.

A top delegation includes Aa. Ha. Salunkhe, activist Popatrao Pawar, B. B. Thombre, Entrepreneur Hanumantrao Gaikwad, Prof. Sadanand More, actor Sayaji Shinde, Editor Prakash Pohare, Historian Pandurang Balkawade, Satish Parab, Nitin Desai, Ulhas Gosalkar, Ram Takwale, Dr. Amol Kolhe, Raghoji Raje Angre, Suresh Hawre, and others.

On this occasion, Ministers Chandrakant Patil, Vinod Tawde, Subhash Deshmukh, Eknath Shinde, Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar, BJP Maharashtra Chief and Lok Sabha MP Raosaheb Danve, MLC Vinayak Mete were present.

During this meeting, the panel of eminent personalities appealed the state government to explore the possible way-outs for long pending Maratha reservation. On this occasion, Chief Minister Fadnavis briefed dignitaries about various steps initiated by the state government. The celebrity panel also signed a joint statement in support of Maratha reservation.

Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reiterated that BJP led state government is committed to the promise of Maratha reservation. He assured that within the frame of the constitution, the government will ensure the strong legal framework for Maratha reservation. He urged Maratha outfits to refrain from any type of violence.

Since two weeks, Pro- Maratha organizations are staging a state-wide protest on the demand of 16% reservation in job and education.
