Jaipur, August 20: Everyone in the world gets empowered with education, employment and own house. In the same way, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje-led state government has decided to reserve 2% houses for transgenders in all the housing schemes to be launched by Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) development authorities and urban improvement trusts (UIT).

Notably, the Urban Land Disposal has given its approval to make provision for 2% reservation of transgenders in all housing schemes which will be launched by the state government. The scheme has also received a nod from the urban development and housing (UDH) minister Shrichand Kriplani and notification will be released soon.

The state government last year received a proposal from a transgender community of reservation in housing schemes. Agreeing to the long-pending demand, the Rajasthan government has paved way for the empowerment of the transgenders in the state. Importantly, the Rajasthan government had already given a reservation to differently-abled in all the housing schemes.
