London, August 22: A Britain Court has denied bail to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s right-hand man Jabir Moti who was arrested in London last week on charges of money laundering and extortion. The court was told that the 51-year-old Pakistani national, who appeared in the dock at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London, faces extradition to the US following an FBI investigation dating back to 2005.

The UK court said Moti faces allegations of conspiracy to launder money and extortion that link up to terrorist offenses as well as charges of drug trafficking.

Judge Margot Coleman said in her ruling that she cannot grant bail to Moti as the allegations are very, very serious.

Moti's defense team had asked the court not to allow media to report the hearing over safety concerns, however, the court turned down the request, saying the UK has an open justice system.

Moti is described as a senior member and top lieutenant of organized crime and terror network D-Company, managed by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

According to details that emerged in court, Moti arrived in the UK on business on a 10-year visa and was due to leave the country today.
