Recalling a warm flashback of Wuhan Summit, PM Modi appreciates increasing momentum of defence with China

New Delhi, August 22: A meeting the world witnessed to garner the much-needed attention, a warning for many others to view the growing camaraderie between two countries, India and China have strengthened their relations owing to increasing momentum of military and high-level contact.

Consolidating the nurturing ties, India and China continue to implement the consensus during the informal Wuhan Summit that took place in April. Welcomed with a warm gesture in India, State Councillor and Defence Minister of China, Gen. Wei Fenghe called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

 

Appreciating the efforts taken by both the countries, PM Modi praised the increased momentum of high-level contacts between India and China in all spheres, including in the areas of defence and military exchanges.

PM Minister Narendra Modi warmly recalled the recent meetings with President Xi Jinping in Wuhan, Qingdao, and Johannesburg. The frequent meetings between both the leaders have been viewed as an added advantage in strengthening the diplomatic bond.

Terming India-China relations as a factor of stability in the world, the Prime Minister said that maintenance of peace and tranquility in the border areas is revealing of the sensitivity and maturity with which India and China handle their differences, not allowing them to become disputes.

After having a wide-range meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Defence Minister of China will have a comprehensive meeting with Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman discussing strengthening military base at the border and other various areas of interest.
