Goa unites with flood-affected Kerala by assistance of 5 cr

Panaji, August 23: Goa has given its helping hand to flood-affected state Kerala by announcing financial assistance of Rs 5 crore. Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar took this decision today.


 

"Chief Minister, Shri @manoharparrikar has sanctioned Rs 5 crore as Goa government's contribution towards Kerala CM's relief fund for Kerala flood relief operations," the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said in a tweet.

"Goa stands in solidarity with the people of Kerala," it added.

Along with this, several states of India have come forward extending a helping hand with providing financial assistance to Kerala. Maharashtra, Odisha, Assam, Delhi, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and many others have contributed for this noble cause helping thousands resettle their lives to normalcy.

 

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Saturday announced Rs 20 Crore as urgent help to Kerala flood victims. The state government is coordinating with various social and voluntary organizations to immediately send food and other help to the flood-hit people of Kerala. Fadnavis appealed to all the communities in the state to extend all possible help to them.
