Convenience of travelers, CM Devendra Fadnavis gives green signal to new initiative schemes for railway in Maharashtra

Mumbai, August 24: With increasing scope of advancing the state with modern advancements, the Railway Ministry for Maharashtra had dreamt of investing several escalating projects. In this view of fulfilling the promises made by the Railway Ministry for Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday gave a green signal for land acquisition, laying of new railway lines and implementing schemes at railway stations for the convenience of the travelers.

At a meeting in Mumbai, CM Devendra Fadnavis and Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal reviewed issues pending for various railway projects. Senior officials from Indian Railways, GoM, MMRDA, BMC, and CIDCO were also present in the meeting.

Chairing the meeting, the Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and CM Fadnavis discussed land acquisition for the 6th line between Mumbai Central to Borivali, land requirements for Ahmednagar- Beed-Parli Vaijnath, Wardha-Ballarshah, Bhusaval-Jalgaon, Pune-Miraj-Londa, Wardha-Nagpur 3rd line. Various issues of MUTP (Mumbai Urban Transport Project) - 3A also got discussed. This project is of Rs 54,777 crore, with Government of Maharashtra share of Rs 27,388 crore.

 

He instructed the Railway Board, CIDCO, and MMRDA to start the land acquisition process for laying new railway line. The Chief Minister took stock of the works for CST-Panvel, Churchgate-Virar corridor, elevated corridors, high-speed railways, over -bridges, and Integrated Ticketing System in Mumbai.

 

This project will ease major traffic congestion in Virar, Panvel, Bandra, Kalyan, Borivali and also includes station improvement.

 

With this implementation of projects, the state of Maharashtra is running speedily on the path of development and progress. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in the monsoon session had said that the land acquisition process for 1,484 hectares has been initiated in 12 districts along the alignment of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project, falling in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
