Andhra Pradesh teams up with Retailers Association of India

Mumbai, Aug 28: In order to revive the local retail industry in the state, Andhra Pradesh government has joined hands with Retailers Association of India. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between APEDB and Retailers Association of India where both the organizations will work closely to enhance the competitiveness of the traditional retail market.

With the help of the best available technologies, business eco-system like Multi-agent distributed processing will be developed to boost the prospects of India’s most dynamic and fast-growing market. In his recent Mumbai visit, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu sealed a deal with leading Retail firms like Reliance Retail and Future Group.

Under this programme, fair price shops under the Public Distribution System will be into Village Malls. In Andhra Pradesh, there are 29,000 fair price shops. In the first leg near about 6,500 shops will be transformed into proposed Village Malls.
