Indian Army bust terrorist hideout in north Kashmir; recovers huge cache of arms and ammunition

Srinagar, August 28: The Indian Army on Monday busted a terrorist hideout and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition during the search operation in forest area in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.

 

A team of Indian Army launched a massive search operation in the Dana Bank forests of Chandaji in Bandipora district of north Kashmir after the gunshots were heard. During the search operation, Army recovered a large number of arms, ammunition and other materials.

According to official sources, the troopers of 27 Rashtriya Rifles recovered one GPS, one AK-magazine, wireless set, a pouch and some clothes. The search operation is still in progress. This comes a day after security forces arrested four newly-recruited terrorists belonged to Al-Badr terror outfit. On August 21, security forces gunned down one unidentified terrorist after a fierce encounter broke out in Kupwara district.

On August 10, Indian Army busted a terrorist hideout and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition during the search operation in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The recoveries included one 9mm Pistol, three magazines of a pistol, four rounds of 9mm pistol, four carrying bags, one AK-56 rifle (with sling), three magazines of AK-56 rifle with ammunition, one unidentified weapon, one revolver, 14 hand grenades and one AK-47 bayonet and other warlike stores.

Earlier, the centre has said that 110 terrorists were killed in the first seven months of this year.
