NIA nabs two main accused including Deputy Superintendent of Amphalla prison in Jammu in a terror conspiracy case

Srinagar, August 29: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested two main accused persons in connection with the Hizbul Mujahideen terror conspiracy case.

 

Notably, the NIA arrested has arrested Deputy Jail Superintendent of Amphalla prison in Jammu Feroz Ahmad Lone and Ishaq Palla in connection with the Hizbul Mujahideen terror conspiracy case.

The case pertains to an attempt by Suhail Ahmad Bhat and Danish Ghulam Lone, who was arrested earlier, to travel to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) for arms training to wage war against the state. They were motivated by the Ishaq Palla.

Both were arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara district near the Line of Control while trying to cross over to PoK on October 2017. The main accused Ishaq Palla was lodged in Srinagar jail in a different case and he was instrumental in hatching the conspiracy from Jail. He was actively assisted by deputy superintendent Feroz Ahmad Lone.

Accused Ishaq Palla has been remanded to 10 days NIA custody by the special NIA court in Jammu. Other accused Feroz Ahmad Lone will be produced before the court tomorrow for seeking his custody. Police haven't ruled out further arrests in the case.
