Gandhinagar, Aug 29: Rejecting all the allegations levelled by senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh, Gujarat Power Minister Saurabh Patel said that the state-run Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) has not violated the norms of any financial institution.

In an official statement, the senior Cabinet Minister stated that Ramesh’s attack on Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation was merely a politically motivated move to defame Gujarat and its biggest gas distribution and trading company.

Reacting strongly to the charges of financial irregularities, Patel said that Rs 20,000-crore scam theory does not have any substance. He maintained that the leaders Congress party are trying to undermine the contribution of GSPC.

Clarifying on the accusations of non-payment by GSPC, Patel mentions that state-run company has not defaulted on any of its loan payments. He further added that GSPC was very particular in replaying the principal amount and the interest payments. Earlier, terming GSPC as bankrupt, Jairam Ramesh had claimed that the amount of Rs 12,000 crore has been stalled by the fuel company.
