Case filed against Kamal Haasan for defaming Jayalalitha

Chennai, Aug 3: Ahead of the worldwide release of Vishwaroopam 2, Superstar Kamal Haasan once again landed in a controversy over his recent comments in Big Boss 2.

Irked with the comments on former Chief Minister Late J Jayalalitha, a Chennai based lawyer Louisal Ramesh on Thursday filed a complaint against the actor who is hosting the Tamil version of Big Boss 2 on Vijay TV. According to the complainer, the actor turned politician dubbed the former AIDMK President as a dictator on National Television.

The ace actor who is busy in promotional activities of his prestigious trilingual offering Vishwaroopam 2 had a strained relationship with the then Chief Minister. In 2013, citing law and order situation, Jayalalitha had banned Haasan’s pet project Vishwaroopam in Tamil Nadu.

In his recent media interaction, the actor turned Politician openly blamed Jayalalitha for stalling his film. He stated that Jayalalitha took the extreme step out of political revenge. On several platforms, the Makkal Needhi Maiam had challenged the leadership of late J Jayalalitha.

Written and directed by Kamal Hassan, the second installment of Vishwaroopam series, the action-packed spy-thriller will hit the screen on August 10.

Vishwaroopam 2 is being bankrolled by Raajkamal Films International in assassination with Aascar Ravichandran's Aascar Films. Director Rohit Shetty and Reliance Entertainment will present Hindi version. The film was shot in Tamil and Hindu and also dubbed in Telugu.

Besides Kamal Haasan, the film also stars, Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar Andrea Jeremiah Shekhar Kapur, Nasser, Jaideep Ahlawat, Wahida Rehman. Music is composed by Ghibran and Shamdat Sainudeen is the director of photography.
