New Delhi, Aug 30: For the first time in its history of over nine decades, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has organised a three-day interactive lecture series by Sarasanghchalak Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat from September 17-19 in Delhi.

Dr Bhagwat will address and interact with the select gathering of prominent personalities drawn from “all strata of the society” on “Future of Bharat: An RSS Perspective”. The three-day event will be held in Capital’s prestigious Vigyanj Bhavan, said RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Arun Kumar.

Addressing a press conference here on August 27, Arun Kumar said that while India was moving ahead towards regaining her special and unique position in world, the RSS has realised that there was a growing eagerness amongst the larger sections of the society including intellectuals and youth to know and understand the RSS’ perspective on various issues of national importance.

This lecture series has therefore, been organised in this context where none other than the Sarsanghchalak of the RSS will be presenting the RSS viewpoint on various contemporary issue confronting the nation today, he added.

Responding to the questions from the journalists, Arun Kumar said that there is a major section in the society that wants to serve the society and contribute in the progress of the nation. They are also willing to join hands with the RSS for making this contribution.

He said that the RSS has become an object of curiosity in the recent times. Though the RSS has nothing to do with day-to-day politics, it usually happens that the leaders of different parties and other people also try to relate political issues with RSS.

It is against such background it was felt that when India was marching on way to acquire its unique position on the global stage, the intellectual opinion makers from various fields of the society should be told about the RSS perspective and vision on future of India. RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat will explain the RSS view point in taking the society along in its mission of national reconstruction vis-à-vis the role of the society.

Dr Bhagwat will explain the RSS perspective and vision for two days and invite questions from the audience on the third before making the concluding remarks. This program will be telecast on various channels including facebook.

The RSS attaches greater significance to this program which is unique and maybe first in the 93 years of its existence.

Arun Kumar said that some foreign ambassadors and officials from embassies will be invited for this program besides stalwarts and towering personalities from industry, media, social and cultural fields, intellectuals, column writers will be invited to attend this program.

Explaining the propriety of this program Arun Kumar said that though the Sangh holds various programs countrywide, they fail to convey the import of Sangh mission in its entirety to the audience obviously due to time constraint. Hence, it is thought to organise such a comprehensive program so that many a current and contemporary topics can be discussed explaining the RSS perspective and vision.

This program will be hosted by RSS Delhi Prant and representatives of various political parties may also be invited. Replying to a question on invitation to Congress President Rahul Gandhi who has been constantly and consistently attacking the RSS, Arun Kuamr said that he was making such statements in absence of correct information and comparing RSS with Muslim Brotherhood.

He said that the entire world knows how the terrorism of Islamic State or Muslim Brotherhood is wreaking havoc in various parts of the world. Had Rahul Gandhi have a clear concept of them he would not have compared RSS with such organisations. Sometime we felt and he also said that he was still trying to understand India. That means he has not yet understood India properly then how can he understand the RSS? To know and understand the RSS it is imperative to know and understand India first. The concept of ‘Sarva Dharma Samabhava’, ‘We the People of India’ or ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ can be understood only when he understands India and then he can understand the RSS, Kumar said adding that his comparison of RSS with Muslim Brotherhood stems from his ignorance of correct information.

He said that the three-day interactive lecture series will cover the issues related to RSS, the questions raised, the efforts made to understand this organisation in order to clear the doubts and misgivings about RSS and its mission. There will be a comprehensive discussion on all such issues with the Chief of RSS.

Responding to another question of Kerala flood and relief work by RSS swayamsevaks, Arun Kumar said that whatever the work Sangh swayamsevaks had done in Kerala cannot be negated. We did not try to manipulate but those who do not do any such thing are generally levelling such allegations. But we are not worried about this. The RSS swayamsevak does not do such service for show. We feel that every citizen of this country is my brother and to help him in times of distress is our duty. We work with this sense of responsibility and we did in the past also.
