Two more terrorists sent into grave; security forces finish yet another combat operation cleanly in JK

Srinagar, August 30: Continuing its high voltage combat operation in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces on Thursday morning eliminated two more terrorists in Bandipora district. The operation has been called off after the body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot.

 

Notably, security forces including personnel of Indian Army, police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation following the specific input of presence of 2-3 terrorists in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

As soon as the security forces moved closer to the hiding terrorists, they fired upon which ensured in a fierce gunfight. In retaliation, security troopers successfully eliminated two ultras. The body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot. However, the identification of slain terrorists is yet to be ascertained.

Earlier in the day, Jammu and Kashmir police in a series of tweet said, “Encounter is in progress at #Hajan. Details will follow.”


In another tweet Jammu and Kashmir police said, “One terrorist killed, exchange of fire going on.”


Meanwhile, a police spokesperson said, “The body of a second terrorist was recovered from the site of a gunfight in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.” The spokesperson further noted that the security forces retaliated, triggering a gunfight in which two terrorists were killed.

This comes a day after Security forces killed 2 terrorists in Khanabal area of Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. One of the two terrorists killed was identified as Altaf Kachru, one of the oldest Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists operating in the Kashmir.
