Pune Police Commissioner Dr. K Venkatesham assures fair probe in Bhima Koregaon

New Delhi/Pune, Aug 30: Responding to Supreme Court’s order on five activists arrested in connection with the Bhima Koregaon case, Pune Police Commissioner Dr. K Venkatesham assured that Bhima Koregaon investigation will be brought to a logical end.

As quoted by ANI, the top cop informed that state security agencies will file a detailed affidavit as per SC order. Venkatesham maintained that Police force is judiciously analyzing the items and evidence recovered during the search operations.

A plea challenging the arrest of Varavara Rao, Vernon Gonsalves, and Arun Ferreira was filed by a group of activists which includes historian Romila Thapar, economists Prabhat Patnaik and Devaki Jain. Today, the top court halted the detention of the five activists and ordered house arrest until the next hearing, which is scheduled for 6 September.
