JK police nabs four overground workers belonged to Hizbul terror outfit from Rajouri

Srinagar, August 31: Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday arrested four over ground workers (OGW) belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit from Rajouri district. All the four OGWs were involved in a Hawala racket and have been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).

 

After receiving the specific input, Jammu and Kashmir police nabbed four OGWs of Hizbul terror outfit under Public Safety Act (PSA). The OGWs identified as Sajjad Ahmed Malla, Mohd Arif, Khurshid Ahmed Thokar and Ajaz Ahmed Sofi were involved in Hawala racket.

SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas said, “A dossier in this regard was submitted before District Magistrate Rajouri by the SSP Rajouri and the district magistrate issued order for booking them under PSA.” These OGWs were arrested by Rajouri Police along with Rs one lakh Hawala money meant for the supply to the militant outfit in Shopian district, for which a case stands registered, he added.

The SSP further noted that during an investigation of the case, it has come to light that these OGWs were in constant touch with Saddam Paddar and Zeenat-Ul-Islam, Commanders of Hizbul outfit, who motivated them to visit Rajouri to bring Hawala money and made hideouts viz-a-viz motivate youths in a bid to revive terrorism.

“However, before they could cause any damage in furtherance to their mission, the network of the OGWs was smashed by the Rajouri Police and all of them were arrested,” he concluded.

This comes a day after security forces eliminated two terrorists in Bandipora district. On Wednesday also, 2 terrorists including Altaf Kachru, one of the oldest Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists operating in the Kashmir was killed.

In August this year, security forces arrested two over ground workers (OGW) from Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Importantly, this is a result of intensified efforts of security forces to curb terrorism and terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir with an aim to bring peace, law and order in the valley.
