Ratan Tata lays foundation stone for Tata Trusts’s Cancer hospital at Tirupati

Tirupati, Aug 31: Tata Trusts Chairman Ratan Tata today laid the foundation stone of much anticipated Sri Venkateswara Institute of Cancer Care and Advanced Research (SVICCAR) a joint venture of Tata group and Tirumala-Tirupati Devastanam. On this occasion, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu and other officials were present.

Addressing the meeting, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister expressed that the Cancer hospital will bring temple town to the global map for its medical service. Naidu announced that the services of cancer care center will be made available for every district headquarters.

Expressing happiness over the developments, Tata mentioned that the initiative of Tata Trusts and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam will provide the best possible treatment for the cancer patients. He hoped that the proposed healthcare center will address the future challenges and requirements for the fight against cancer.

Tata Trusts and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) have joined hands for the construction of a cancer center. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been signed between by Tata Trusts and TTD. The 300-bed world-class cancer care facility–Sri Venkateswara Institute of Cancer Care & Advanced Research will become operational from June 2019.
