NTR Biopic: Actor Rana Daggubati confirmed for Chandra Babu Naidu’s role

Hyderabad, Aug 4: Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati is all set for yet another period drama. This time the handsome hunk will be entering into the shoes of none other than Telugu Desam Party Chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu.

Makers of NTR biopic on Friday formally made an official announcement about Rana’s character. Soon after the declaration, the ace actor along with Nandamuri Balakrishna met Chandra Babu Naidu at his residence.

Confirming the development, the social media enthusiast took to Twitter and said, “Coming together to tell you a story of an incredible human phenomenon called “N.T. Rama Rao”. Rana also shared a snapshot with lead actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Kirsh Jagarlamudi.

Chandra Babu Naidu is the son-in-law of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Nandamuri Balakrishna, son of NTR and TDP lawmaker from Hindupur will be donning the titular role.

Chandra Babu Naidu got married to NTR’s daughter Bhuwaneshwari when he was Minister in Congress government. After losing against TDP candidate, Naidu joined the yellow army after Telugu Desam’s unprecedented victory in 1983’s Andhra Pradesh assembly polls under the dynamic leadership of NTR.

Versatile actress Vidya Balan will be essaying the role of NTR’s wife Basavatarakam. If reports are anything to go by, Keerthy Suresh basking in the success of Mahatanti has been finalized to play the role of legendary actor Savitri, whereas actor Sumanth is on-board for Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s character. Mohan Babu will reprise the role, SV Ranga Rao. According to Mumbai Mirror, the film also marks the Telugu debut of Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta who plays the late filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke winner, LV Prasad.

On March 29, Vice -President M Venkaiah Naidu had officially launched the most anticipated biopic on the legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao. The opening ceremony took place at Ramakrishna Horticultural studios.

DOP Santosh Tundiyil will crank the camera, whereas Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao will take care of editing. Baahubali fame MM Keeravani will be scoring the tunes. The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.

The period drama will be bankrolled by NBK films in association with Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram and Vibri Media. Besides Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Vardhan Induri will be co-producing the long-awaited biopic.

Director Kirsh Jagarlamudi has already completed the first schedule in Hyderabad. The maverick storyteller is also helming Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which will hit the screens in 2019.
