Maratha Reservation row: BJP President Amit Shah to meet Devendra Fadnavis

New Delhi, Aug 6: Days after the violent Maratha agitation in the state, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will meet BJP National President Amit Shah today in National Capital.

According to media reports, Fadnavis along with Maharashtra lawmakers will discuss the socio-political situation on the backdrop of Maratha reservation. The Chief Minister will discuss the future course of action on the long-pending proposal of Maratha reservation.

For the first time, BJP has won the local body polls of Sangali and Jalgaon. This will be the first meeting between Shah and Fadnavis after the overwhelming performance of BJP in the midst of massive Maratha outrage.

In his recent media interaction, the Maharashtra Chief Minister asserted that by November, all the legal formalities associated with Maratha Reservation will be completed. He assured that the BJP government is committed to the welfare of Maratha Community.

On July 28 party Fadnavis chaired an all-party meeting where leaders of both the Houses had deliberated on various aspects of Maratha reservation. On August 2, a delegation comprising intellectuals, editors, actors, professionals from Maratha community called on Fadnavis and appealed the state government for the successful roll-out of long pending Maratha reservation.
