With the horrific Deoria Shelter Home case coming in limelight, CM Yogi Adityanath removes District Magistrate

Lucknow, August 6: As the horrific incidence of Muzzafarpur shelter home case, a similar case has been exposed in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district. The incident of the inhuman activity came into limelight when a young girl managed to escape from the shelter house and reached to the Uttar Pradesh police station for help. Taking cognizance of the situation UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath removed District Magistrate of Deoria Sujit Kumar and suspended former District Probation Officer Abhishek Pande in Devariya girls rescue case.

As the girl managed to escape she informed the police officials about the false activities and wrongdoings that were taking place in the Deoria shelter home. The girl victim is a native of Bihar's Betia village who narrated the ordeals. Shedding light on the happenings the girl mentioned that the women were taken from the shelter homes in car. The minor girls were forced for pity work in the shelter home like mopping and sweeping and sometimes they were also forcefully send to the random men. 

Managing a quick response, the police immediately rescued 24 girls from the shelter home which included girls and women. Seizing the shelter home, the police nabbed three accused which included the two manager who were identified as Girija Tripathi and Mohan Tripathi and the President identified as Kanchanlata of the shelter home.

Informing about the incidence, Additional Director General of Police (law & order) said that the concerned district administrator is already taking action in this regard. Women & child development ministry is also looking into the matter. The children will be sent for medical examination.

Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare also informed that an FIR was lodged to shut the shelter home immediately. Meanwhile, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken all documents and evidences from local police and administration. CBI is getting in touch with TISS team who audited the shelter home in Muzaffarpur.

The Uttar Pradesh government has constituted 2 member probe committee and asked report in 12 hours. The investigation is underway and the police have assured that the main culprits will be punished and strict action will be taken. The Chief Minister has also asked the officials to take a probe on all the shelter homes that are working in the state.
