On August 16, the Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra will rehear the Public Interest Litigations filed by four applicants demanding the removal of Article 35A in Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir’s Political parties, like Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National Conference, and other separatist leaders are against the scrapping of Article 35A whereas the ruling party at the center is against the special provision extended to the Himalayan state.
