Major Terror Op by Gazwat-Al-Hind averted ahead of Independence Day by JK police; Terrorist arrested with 8 grenades

Gazwat-Al-HindSrinagar, August 6: Ahead of Independence Day, Jammu and Kashmir police foiled a major terror attack and arrested a terrorist along with eight grenades from the Gandhi Nagar area in Pulwama district on Sunday late night. The terrorist has been identified as Arfan Wani.

 

Notably, after receiving the input from the intelligence agencies, Jammu and Kashmir police arrested Arfan Wani from a bus in Gandhi Nagar area. He was travelling to New Delhi and at least 8 grenades and cash worth Rs 60,000 was also recovered from his possession.

Detained person with 8 Granades is identifid as Irfan from Srinagar, is a member of Zakir Moosa's Gazwat-Al-Hind, terror outfit He was on way to Jammu to target Delhi. Delhi Police Special Cell is coming to Jammu and Kashmir to Investigate.

A case has been registered and during the preliminary investigation and interrogation, Arfan Wani has revealed that he had planned on hurling grenades at the security forces during Independence Day. Arfan Wani hails from Awantipora in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. It is still not clear which terror outfit he belongs to.

This comes days after security forces including Indian Army’s 44RR and Jammu and Kashmir’s police SOG neutralized five terrorists belonged to Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit at Kilora area of Shopian district.

Importantly, the inputs by the intelligence agencies said that the terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen have planned to carry out terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and New Delhi on the Independence Day.
