Panaji, August 6: Preparations for laying the red carpets for IFFI 2018 (International Film Festival of India) Goa have been started. It has invited to get the films an exposure it deserves. They are accepting Film Entries from all over India for the Indian Panorama section of 49th IFFI this year to be held from November 20 to 28. It has given its procedure through which one can apply for its movie and also the last date for submission given is August 10.

On the other hand, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore met CM of Goa Manohar Parrikar on Saturday to review the preparations for this mega event to be held in November this year.

IFFI celebrated its 48th year with a bigger showbiz and a better zeal from film artists around the globe.

The Festival aims at providing a common platform for filmmakers of the world to project their excellence in film art; contributing to the understanding and appreciation of film cultures of different nations in the context of their social and cultural ethos, and promoting friendship and co-operation among people of the world.

The efforts of the Government of Goa under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar brought IFFI to Goa from Trivandrum in 2004. Initially, the state had to face a lot of cynicism due to the lack of infrastructure to cater to a festival of this magnitude and the weak film culture that prevailed back then. But, a contrast to people’s doubts, a large number of delegates poured in and made its first edition a success. Sooner, the development of Infrastructures like the new Patto Bridge and INOX multiplex steered a clear path for Goa to continue hosting IFFI as an annual competitive festival.
