Srinagar, August 7: Fight against terrorism and proxy war led by Pakistan continues in the interior as well as the outskirts of Jammu and Kashmir. Notably, Indian Army on Tuesday foiled an infiltration bid and eliminated four Pak-based terrorists along the LoC in Gurez sector of Bandipore district. Unfortunately, during the operation four Army men including an officer was martyred. Hours before to this operation, Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) from the Anantnag district along with huge amount of explosives.

 

Ceasefire violation from Pakistan and infiltration bid in Gurez sector

Today morning, at least four Pakistani terrorists were neutralized and a major infiltration bid was foiled by the alert Army personnel after a fierce encounter that took place near the Line of Control in Gurez sector of Bandipore district. The arms and ammunition along with the body of slain terrorists have been recovered from the encounter site.

After noticing suspicious movement along the LoC, the Army's patrolling party hallenged a group of infiltrators but they opened fire which ensued in a fierce encounter. At least four terrorists were eliminated. However, the helping hands of these terrorists i.e Pakistani Army resorted to the ceasefire violation due to which four army personnel including an officer was martyred.

The martyred Army personnel have been identified as Major K P Rane, hawaldars Jamie Singh and Vikramjeet and rifleman Mandeep. According to the sources, a group of eight was trying to infiltrate into the country. Of them, four ran back to Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK).

A known defence analyst Major Gaurav Arya in a tweet said, “Four Indian Army personnel martyred along LoC in Gurez Sector in a bid to counter infiltration from Pakistan. Maj KP Rane, Hav Jamie Singh, Hav Vikramjeet, Rfn Mandeep. 4 terrorists killed. 4 ran away. Hunt on. May Lord Shiva bless the martyrs.”


Jaish terrorist nabbed in Anantnag district

Hours after a member of Zakir Moosa's Gazwat-Al-Hind terror outfit was nabbed, Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) from the Anantnag district along with huge amount of explosives and other devices.


 

After receiving a specific input, Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a terrorist Muzamil Ahmad Dar from the Anantnag district and recovered a huge amount of explosives and other devices from his possession. A case under the relevant sections of law has been registered at police station Bijbehara.

The ammunition recovered on his disclosure includes hand grenades, IED, Chinese grenade, detonators, mobile phones, battery, safety fuse wire, cordex wire, safety fuse, black explosive, white explosive and circuit wire. Muzamil Ahmad Dar was in touch with the other JeM handlers and they were collectively planning massive attacks in the valley.

On Monday, Jammu and Kashmir police foiled a major terror attack and arrested a terrorist belonged to Gazwat-Al-Hind terror outfit along with eight grenades from the Gandhi Nagar area in Pulwama district. This comes days after security forces including Indian Army’s 44RR and Jammu and Kashmir’s police SOG neutralized five terrorists belonged to Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit at Kilora area of Shopian district.

Importantly, the inputs by the intelligence agencies said that the terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen have planned to carry out terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and New Delhi on the Independence Day.
