EAM Sushma Swaraj does it again! Two Indian businessmen abducted in Malaysia rescued

New Delhi, August 8: In another major achievement on rescue mission tick marked by Ministry of External Affairs, two Indian businessmen who were kidnapped from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia earlier in August have been liberated.

 

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted saying, “RP Vaidya and KP Vaidya, who had gone to Malaysia for business purposes, were abducted on August 3. I am happy to inform that with the efforts of our High Commissioner Mridul Kumar and his team, Malaysian Police has secured the release of both Indian nationals on August 6.”

The Vaidya brothers hailed from Mumbai are businessmen who run a fish export company. The family sought help from Sushma Swaraj and the Indian Embassy in Malaysia besides the police in India after they received a ransom call asking for Rs 1 crore after the two brothers reached Malaysia on August 1. They had been kidnapped by unidentified men there.

Appreciating the efforts taken by the High Commissioner Mridul Kumar and his team, EAM Sushma Swaraj said with the efforts of the team, the Malaysian Police secured the release of both the Indian nationals. The Indian Embassy in Malaysia also tweeted informing the release of both the Indian Nationals.

Earlier, Sushma Swaraj in her new list of achievement had rescued, an Indian abducted in Malaysia by the police there and three Pakistani nationals have been arrested in connection with the abduction case. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday informed that the Indian national who has been identified as Sanjeev from Madhya Pradesh was rescued by the Royal Malaysian Police.
