TDP, BJP verbal spat stalls review meeting of Union Minister Piyush Goyal

New Delhi, Aug 8: Objecting of AP BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao’s presence during a review meeting at Rail Bhavan, TDP MPs locked horns with Union Minister Piyush Goyal on the issue of Visakhapatnam separate rail zone.

On Tuesday, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal chaired a meeting where Visakhapatnam MP K Hari Babu and GVL Narasimha Rao along with TDP lawmakers were present.

During this meeting, a heated argument between GVL Narasimha Rao and some TDP leaders irked the members of the yellow army. Telugu Desam Party page shared the controversial video on its official Facebook account.

Before Goyal could replay, GVL lashed out at TDP leaders. Reacting to GVL’s argument Dubbing him as UP lawmaker, some TDP leader asked Narasimha Rao not to interfere in the matter of Andhra Pradesh.

The Andhra Pradesh ruling party slammed BJP for deliberately side-tracking the long pending issue. TDP also questioned the in-action of BJP MPs GVL Narasimha Rao and former BJP AP Chief Haribabu just for the sake of a seat in the parliament.

The TDP members then staged a protest outside the meeting hall, demanding a special railway zone for Visakhapatnam. As quoted by The News Minute, citing Schedule 13 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act Goyal stated that center would revisit the feasibility report for the proposed railway zone.
