Connecting links of glorious heritage; PM Modi, PM Oli jointly inaugurate Pashupatinath Dharmashala in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, September 1: Linking not just diplomatically, India and Nepal share a very strong bond over past history and cultural connection. After concluding a successful BIMSTEC Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister K P Oli jointly inaugurated the Pashupatinath Dharmashala in Kathmandu.

Recalling his past visit to Pashupatinath and other temples in Nepal, PM Modi while addressing the occasion said that the Prime Minister feels the sense of belonging and the love and affection of the people of Kathmandu. Having the privilege of inaugurating the Dharmashala, PM Modi said that India and Nepal have exceeded both time and distance with spiritual ties.

 

Expressing delight PM Modi said that Govt of Nepal has decided to translate Atal Ji’s poems in the Nepali language. The Prime Minister further said that the temples of Pashupatinath, Muktinath, and Jankidham showcase Nepal's unity in diversity, besides strengthening its bonds with India. He added the rich traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism that resonate in the city of Kathmandu. He also mentioned how Buddhism is an important link between India and Nepal. He said both countries are proud of their glorious heritage.

The Prime Minister stressed on the need for development, especially the need for the progress of the weaker and marginalized sections of society. He said India is scaling new heights in economic development, and added that the vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" also includes the people of Nepal. He said India is happy to see political stability in Nepal. He said Nepal can always count on India's goodwill and cooperation.
