Security forces eliminated five hardcore terrorists belonged to Lashkar, Hizbul in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, September 15: Operation-All Out continues in full swing. Security forces on Saturday early morning eliminated at least five terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in a fierce encounter that took place in Chowgam village of Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir. The hunting operation concluded.

 

Security forces including troopers of Indian Army, CRPF and personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a cordon and search operation after receiving a specific input of presence of at least eight terrorists in Chowgam village of Kulgam district.

In a fierce encounter, five terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) have been eliminated. The body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition has been recovered from the encounter spot.

To maintain peace and law and order situation, the district administration has imposed restrictions under section 144 in Kulgam and adjacent areas. Train services in south Kashmir have also been suspended.

In a series of a tweet, Jammu and Kashmir police said, “All five killed.Weapons recovered from encounter site.”


“Encounter going on in Chowgam Kulgam. Five terrorists are trapped. 3 reported to have been neutralised. Train services between Baramulla -Qazigund suspended. Police and Security Forces on job.” JK police said earlier.


“A huge success for Police and security http://forces.It was a combo of HM and LeT terrorists.Most of them were involved in a series of terror acts including killing of 2 bank employees and many policemen.Also involved in bank robberies and weapon looting,” Jammu and Kashmir police said in another tweet.


Earlier, in a big breakthrough, security forces eliminated eight terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror outfit in separate operations in Kupwara, Baramulla and Reasi district of the valley.

Importantly, under Operation-All Out, a total of 134 terrorists belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Al Badr, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind have been eliminated in the first eight months of this year i.e from January 1 to August 31. While in the month of August, 25 terrorists were eliminated which is highest in a month this year.
