Gandhinagar, Sept 20: In order to improve the existing network of RoRo ferry service, the Gujarat government has decided to launch a new set of ferry services.

Responding to the question of Congress lawmaker Chandanji Thakor, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced that the state government is planning to start seven or eight new ferry services from Kutch, Jamnagar, and Bhavnagar. He informed that near about 54,639 passengers have already traveled through RoRo ferry services.

Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the highly prestigious Ghogha-Dahej ferry service. The water transportation venture reduces the distance between the two towns from 310 km by road to 30 km within the span of one hour.
