NTR Biopic: Actor Sumanth’s Akkineni Nageswara Rao look is quite awesome

Hyderabad, Sept 20: On the 94th birth anniversary of yesteryears legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, makers of NTR biopic today unveiled the first look poster of actor Sumanth who is easing the role of ANR. In an emotional Twitter message, Sumanth shared the poster and paid rich tributes to his grandfather.

Fondly known as ANR, Akkineni Nageswara Rao had great onscreen and off-screen chemistry with former AP Chief Minister NT Rama Rao. The duos had worked on projects like Bhookailasa, Rama Krishnulu, Gundamma Katha, Mayabazaar and Sri Krishnarjuna Yuddhaamu.

Akkineni Nageshwara Rao was born in a poor agricultural family at Ramapuram in Gudivada on September 20, 1924. Despite his humble background, Rao made his mark in the Telugu filmdom. In 1941, his cinematic career began with ‘Dharamapatni’. He was last seen in a family drama ‘Manam’ which also features Big B Amitabh Bachchan.

The award-winning actor was particularly popular his romantic and biographical-historical characters. At the age of 91, Rao passed away due to cancer. Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna is the son of ANR.

Earlier, Rana Daggubati’s retro look as Chandra Babu Naidu had captured the attention of movie buffs.

The Multi-lingual project also includes stars like Vidya Balan, Rana Daggubati, Jisshu Sengupta and Keethy Suresh. NTR’s younger son Nandamuri Balakrishna will play the titular role. The much-anticipated movie is being directed by Krishna Jagarlamudi.

The period drama will be bankrolled by NBK films in association with Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram and Vibri Media.
