Giving another reason and a glimpse of their horrific attitude, the West Bengal police opened fire on the students and ABVP karyakartas. The students protested against the administration where Govt of West Bengal recruited teachers of Urdu when the requirement was for Bangla teachers.

Making misuse of police machinery, the West Bengal government ordered the authority to open fire leaving 14 students injured and 2 succumbing to their injuries. The agitation had begun since Monday but on Thursday when the students prevented the new teacher from entering the school, police escorted the teacher.

Students wanted Bengali, Science and Maths teacher for months in Bengal school. But state govt chose to send 3 Urdu teachers instead. When students protested & blocked the way of new teachers as they weren't required, Bengal Police opened fire on the student.

Leaving everyone furious, the incident shook the entire state with the uncalled for act. Requesting justice, the ABVP karyakatas in West Bengal tweeted saying, “If playing with students’ future by not recruiting required teachers was not enough, the West Bengal Govt is now playing with their lives by opening fire on students seeking justice!
