‘The Iron Lady’ is the title of Jayalalithaa’s much-awaited biopic; Nithya Menen to play titular role

 

As quoted by The Hindu, versatile actress Nithya Menen has been finalized for the titular role. On Thursday, veteran filmmaker A.R.Murugadoss launched the official poster and extended wishes for the big project.

Confirming the development, director A. Priyadarshini took to Twitter and thanked Murugadoss. She further clarified that official announcement about lead actor characters will be updated soon. The flick will be bankrolled under the banner of Papertale pitchers.

‘The Iron Lady’ will bring Jayalalithaa’s journey from a young actress to a powerful political leader. The period drama will go to the floor on February 24, making the birthday of the actor turned politician.

Nithya Menen, the journalist turned actress has successfully carved a separate niche in the filmdom down south. Menen, known for her subtle acting skill has great command over Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Last seen in Prashant Verma’s Awe, the Malayalam beauty is gearing up for VK Prakash’s one actor film ‘Praana’ where Nithya will be essaying the role of a progressive author Thara Anuradha.
