As many as 134 terrorists including few top commanders eliminated so far in current year

Srinagar, September 3: Giving a lethal blow to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces began Operation-All Out to eradicate terrorists and bring in peace in the valley. Under Operation-All Out, security forces including Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police have eliminated at least 134 terrorists including few top ultras in the valley.

Notably, a total of 134 terrorists belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Al Badr, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind have been eliminated in the first eight months of this year i.e from January 1 to August 31. While in the month of August, 25 terrorists were eliminated which is highest in a month this year.

By seeing their own extinction coming near, terrorist groups became desperate and started targeting the family members of Jammu and Kashmir police. Terrorist groups by targeting common civilians and family members of JK police are trying to break the intelligence links of security forces.

On Thursday last week, a group of terrorists abducted nine people from Shopian, Kulgam, Anantnag and Awantipora area of Jammu and Kashmir whose family members are either working in Jammu and Kashmir police or in the Army. Among those abducted was a brother of deputy superintendent of police is also included.

However, on Saturday, fearing to death, terrorists freed all the hostages. The development came nearly two hours after the Indian Army released a new hit list of terrorists from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Al Badr, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind operating in Jammu and Kashmir. Last year i.e in the year 2017, a total of 215 terrorists were eliminated in Jammu and Kashmir.
