Andhra Pradesh to develop Smart water grid

Amaravati, Sept 4: Underlining the importance of water management, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu said that a smart water grid should be developed to address the problem of water scarcity.

Addressing the review meeting of irrigation department, Naidu asked officials to ensure the availability of water across the state. He advised officials to use the digital platform to fetch real-time data about water demand and available resources across the state. The Chief Minister instructed concern stakeholder to prepare a roadmap, especially for the Rayalaseema region.

Commenting on the progress of Polavaram project, Babu stated that relief and rehabilitation (R&R) package work should be wrapped up as early as possible. The Chief Minister is likely to visit the Polavaram site on September 17.

AP government is planning to provide water to 2 Cr acres of land. Naidu opined that every drop of water should be preserved for better results.
